Zim agrees with all Souleh says =D
(she's too lazy to repeat everything that everyone already covered, so there.)

-giggle- The example sentence is mine, and when I wrote it, I had no idea what it was for. I actually thought it was going to be the introduction of a story. It's not a big deal--I don't think it is my best literary work or anything. With all of that said--it is most certainly not grammatically incorrect. I don't even think it's that clunky, but I have a well-known tenancy to write really clunky and clause-y sentences. Anyone else is WELCOME to rewrite it. I'm not at all attached. What about a width limit of 500 pixels? From what I have seen, that is fairly standard. This banner is 500x190, just for something to reference. I am going to write a new profile, because I want to do it, after I upload the new skin. I'm using the same banner image with different colors even though I hate it because I am lazy. I hope that is alright.

I know it's not grammatically incorrect, but I wanted to include that to make a point or something about example sentences. Possibly that's a clarity issue with me. That tends to be my weak spot. A sick part of me wants to quote Shakespeare for the example to scare the hell out of everyone.
Your width limit receives a thumbs up from this Souleh. Both thumbs omg!
Also, whoo Zim agrees with me.

As I said--I kinda agree. Someone else write a sentence.
Go ahead and scare us mon coure. Elaborate allusions are a blast.
And what about the height limit? Anyone have any opinions?

Thank you--I wish I could make the centered paragraphs more blocky--you can do it on Invisionfree, but not on proboards. I still like the way it looks. I cannot decide, however, if I want bolded questions or not. Someone else tell me.

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Lunar give the profile two thumbs up.
I'd say bold the questions. It makes it easier to skim, if you need to.

This makes Zim happy =D (you can tell by the big smiley face)
I COMPLETELY ENDORSE THE USE OF SHAKESPEAR.
I dunno, perhaps the limit should be 500x200? 300? If it's too tall... I don't know if my hands can take all that scrolling....

I'd wind up writing the introduction to Macbeth and Lady Macbeth smut, so no.
A few sentences grabbed out of my workshop story about my scientist characters. Can you say topical? 'She paused, scrutinizing the downward pull of her lips, the little vein on the left side of her forehead that grew more pronounced with anger, the hardness of her eyes, interpreting it all as the result of too much stress.' 'Her speech was getting faster, flying from her lips, each word just as cold and detestable as the next, cutting through Ariadne with cold, quiet precision.' 'Gently, Delilah stroked Ariadne’s light brown hair, and Ariadne couldn’t help but think it was cruel, this affection finally showing through after the betrayal, while she slipped into sleep.' 'Then ponies killed them all.' ...Or whatever. (That last one didn't really happen.)
I also totally approve the profile and vote for bolded questions. Also, maybe we could stick a little thing for either a link or the image in-profile in case people have reference models/dolls/drawrings for their characters.
Zim, I'm almost leaning toward 175-ish for height.

Should the image be in the profile or linked out?

Hm. I don't know. And I really don't care. But I guess in the profile.
I kinda like the first one, Souleh -nodnod- The last one might be a little too scary for a younger audience...

It depends on what we want. For convenience, put the picture in the profile. In order to save space, put a link. It just depends on what we waaaant. I vote in. The profiles are already really long, what's the harm in making them a bit bigger?

Alright, let me play with the coding. Should we add a face claim area, then? So people can use the famous people of massive amounts of photos? Or not?

There, I added it. I have another question. Should we have a height and width requirement so that all the profiles look--uniform? The Player [/size] Alias or Nickname:Age:Time Zone: [/size][/b] The Character Basic Information Name:Age:Gender:Experiment Performed: [/size] Character Appearance Place an image of your character in img tags here, please. Possibly a face claim area would be good. But I also think that major celebrities should not be permitted as references. Models and random kids on VF/MySpace/whatever.
And maybe not a requirement, but definitely a limit. We don't want someone trying to use a wallpaper, for gods' sakes. Of course, we could always advise the people to be sane and considerate, and if anyone had a too-large image we could request that they downsize, rather than having an actual set limit.

Nice catch. My dumb spell checker keeps missing that.
Merh.
Nah, if we're not going to allow major celebrities, I don't understand the point of having a model claim. Hopefully people have common sense.

Hey, if we're gonna have face claims... can we have a scene queen ban. please.
None of that MySpace nonsense... I'm so tired to seeing Jac Vanek and Zui Suicide everywhere...
Major celebs should be allowed...just...no scene queens...

I agree about the scene queens. Every time I see Jak Vanek or Audrey Kitching, I cringe. They looks like drug addicts with eating disorders and bad hair stylists. And one comes along on every site. (It's usually the latter that gets me.)
I'm on the fence about major celebrities. I don't know who I would use to face 'Lupe, but I'll probably have her face'd by model of some kind, with enough exposure I can find pictures. -shrug-
It's really up to everyone else.

I have no idea wtf you guys are talking about, as far as scene queens go. I am so out of touch perhaps I should kill myself.
Pero, why 'none of that MySpace nonsense'? The majority of my character refs come from VF or MySpace. Like Adri, his daughter, Iggy, Dmitri, Kenton, and Tori's character that I found for her. All VF links because you can't link out of MySpace and I'm too lazy to upload stuff myself. Why links are necessary are beyond me. But, hey, eye candy?
I am quite firmly against major celebrities. I do not want to see Angelina fxxxing Jolie wandering around the House. I don't care how attractive she is, we want people who look like real people (or at least did before they got messed with), and celebrities do not look like real people. They look like celebrities, and instead of associating their faces with the character, they'll also be associated with said celebrity. D:<
