Sunrise Labs was a small, government-owned lab that created mostly psi-experiments that were intended to be used as super-human weapons. Very few animal splices were actually made in the lab, but some spliced experiments were kept in the basement of Sunrise from other labs.
Sunrise preformed lots of experiments, and few of them had the correct result. Once an experiment was deemed a “failure” the experiment would be placed in the basement of the rather large, gray building that served as the laboratory. The basement is a huge room, and the whole room is lined with twenty cages, and each cage holds around five experiments a piece. The experiments in the basement are generally forgotten about, and the only time the experiments interact with the scientist is when the experiments are provided with the necessities for life.
Sunrise produces few new experiments, and most of the experiments in the basement are kept there for years. The importance of Sunrise comes from the experiments that presided in the lab, and the event that defined the lab as an important lab in the community.
One of the experiments created was a girl by the name of Guadalupe Harrison. Her experimentation gave her the power to manipulate large groups of people. She was deemed a failure, and she was kept in the basement. She befriended two of her cellmates, Atticus Falder and Crystalline Smythe, and the three of them started to plot their way out. The three of them wanted to spark a rebellion.
Although Atticus and Crystalline plotted the rebellion, the female being a rather brilliant strategist, Guadalupe became the face of the rebellion. Because the younger girl was an amazingly charismatic speaker, and because of her new powers, Guadalupe seemed like the perfect firebrand. Soon, she had, mostly by unknowingly using her powers, not only convinced the other experiments of the need to rebel, she had also made the almost one hundred experiments absolutely idolize her.
The plan was perfect, actually, and the rebellion would have been a successful one. The only problem was the mole. The scientist suspected something from the beginning of the plotting, so they convinced one of Guadalupe’s cellmates to tell the plans. When the rebellion was instigated, the scientists were more than ready.
Out of one hundred experiments, sixty-eight were killed. Even the co-planner of rebellion, Crystalline was killed. Atticus is still unaccounted for. Guadalupe Harrison was kept alive due her involvement in the rebellion. After she forced all the people to rebel as she did, it became obvious the experiment was far, far more powerful than the scientist had ever realized. Unfortunately, due to the death of all the experiments and the money lost, Sunrise Labs was shut down.
All the living experiments were sent to other labs, and the main scientists of the experiment kept a small part of the lab open just to watch Guadalupe. The lab officially shut down around three years ago.
The story of Sunrise Lab is famous amongst other laboratories now. Because a rebellion of the scale had never been successful at all, the Sunrise Rebellion became well, well known. Guadalupe is credited with all the planning, and in most versions of the story she, herself, is martyred. The rebellion is usually referred to as Guadalupe’s Rebellion or Hugo’s Rebellion, the name “Hugo” coming from one of Guadalupe’s nicknames, and discrepancies of the story vary from lab to lab.
The experiments from Sunrise were scattered to many different labs, and there are few records of them.
((Okay, if you want your character to be from Sunrise, go ahead, just remember that Sunrise shut down three years ago and that the experiments were spread around. If you want to be the remaining cellmate of Guadalupe, she had five and only four of them are documented, you will have to contact me. The same goes if you want to play the moooole. Any experiments from Sunrise will hold Guadalupe in a very high position, as she became a bit more than a hero to the lab. I would read Guadalupe's profile, too. If you have questions contact me. Crystalline also has a sister, so if you want to be her, do drop me a line. ))
