Full Name: Ahlia Rosette de Licourt
Nickname: Lia
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Type of experimentation: Splicing with bats and humans.
Appearance: Lia’s body is long and mainly snake like with short furry feet serving as back legs. She has developed shoulder blades from which grew large, leathery wings that are blackish in color. The wings are the main asset to her body mostly because of their size in comparison. Lia is about three feet in length and the wings are about five feet when spread full. Her body is jet black and not the glossy kind of black that shines in even the dimmest light. Lia is true black that is dull and never ending.
Personality: Lia is a bit of a rambler, she finds a subject and will just go on and on about it until it’s not the same subject. She has a messiah complex; a bad one, thinking that everyone needs her help and that her help is the only help. As well she has this problem with thinking she owns the world. Endearing in her own way, Lia can be very support and sentimental at times but it really has to be the right environment otherwise she’ll fail to sense the moment and just piss people off.
She’s fairly self-centered, she does nothing that doesn’t benefit her in some way. Her survival instinct is very strong, possibly because of the only small doses of human DNA given to her. She doesn’t make friends easily; in fact she usually drives people away. Lia has several insecurities, one being an inferiority complex (which is a little bit of a paradox if you think about the messiah one), and to add to that she feels more of less crazy, has species confusion, and is actually afraid to trust anyone. But she covers it all up with false bravado and dry wit.
Despite the human DNA, Lia tends to think like a snake. And sometimes like a bat. She doesn’t see people as anything other than creatures like herself and doesn’t understand humanity. She speaks English very well and can pick up accents and languages easily. She’s bright and intelligent but self-centered and solitary.
History: The scientists at Smart Pet were given instructions to make a dragon. Naturally this is impossible, but they did the best they could. Lia’s prospective owners were a pair of scientists themselves, wanting something fantastic and never before seen for their pet, they were paying the lab at least double to get her right. She was meant to have a mind of her own and not be a creature to blindly follow.
She was spliced between Flying Fox and Shield-tailed snake for the basic look and of course human DNA for intelligence. Because of Lia’s particular and “generous” owners she was kept on a slightly more vigilant watch than the rest of the experiments. Lia didn’t actually need all the humanity they gave her. She took the information she needed and (already being part of two of the most intelligent animals on the planet) more or less discarded the rest.
For some reason Lia’s behavior was not what they had intended. She grew up to be too free willed and eventually rejected attention in any form. She bit and fought any who tried to touch her and grew more bitter with each day. She began to insult and mock the lab workers, pushing all the right buttons. Lia didn’t like the idea of being a pet and any attempts to modify her personality were met with lethal lacerations and foul language. Eventually the lab had to declare her a failure. Lia escaped later that day out an open window.
