First off, happy ATLiversary everyone! Our lovely site is now three years old!
Since I'm a sucker for commemorating special occasions in any way possible, I bring you a fun little OOC game (with perhaps the added benefit of prompting a little activity on the site, maybe?). THE DATING GAME!
Here's how it'll work, for those of you who've never played the Dating Game. When played in real life, you have a single 'bachelor,' who is separated by a curtain from three 'bachelorettes' (or it can be reversed, with one bachelorette and three bachelors). In either case, all four participants submit little profiles of themselves, with their interests and hobbies and such (often, such profiles are completely fictional, sometimes outrageously so), and then the 'questioner' (the person of opposite gender from the three others) asks the three 'contestants' a series of questions. The questions range from 'What is your dream date?' to 'If you were a flavor of ice cream, what flavor would you be?' After the questioner is done asking questions, they choose which of the three contestants they like best. As in, /like/ like.
Since we're doing this over the internet, it'll have to be a little different. Guest log-ins can serve the purpose of the 'curtain,' to keep the contestants' identities secret. For the questioner, though, there is no need for secrecy, so they can use their normal log-in. Remember that everyone submits a little profile, usually just detailing interests and hobbies. The questioner can post their profile as their normal log-in, but everyone else should post theirs as a guest (profiles can be anywhere from accurate to completely idealized, depending on what sort of profile the character would submit). Title your guest log-in as 'Bachelor/Bachelorette 1/2/3' to make it easier to keep track of who's who. First person to post gets to be the questioner, second is Bachelor/Bachelorette 1, and so on. Once we have three contestants, the questioner gets to ask questions (the only restriction being, keep it PG-13), and the contestants get to answer. Both questioner and contestants could be your actual self, characters from ATL, or any other roleplay characters you have.
I think we should start off the first round with the questioner being the Bachelor, and the contestants being the Bachelorettes. Simply because, on ATL, we always seem to have a preponderance of females, both roleplay characters and roleplayers.
So then, the positions available would be as follows: 1st post: Bachelor 2nd post: Bachelorette 1 3rd post Bachelorette 2 4th post Bachelorette 3

Firstly, happy ATLversary to you, too! And everyone else! Whoo! Secondly, honestly guys, did you expect anyone else to jump all over that bachelor position? And who deserves it more than the prettiest, shortest, craziest boy around? C: My apologies if the profiley thing is weird, because: A.) I'm just guessing at proper formatting and proper depth. B.) Do you realize who is filling this out? Since when does he do /anything/ normally? Posts from here on out will be from our bachelor. I'll hide inside parentheses or something.
---
...Hello. I suppose I will be your...bachelor for this round. Apparently, according to our host, I have to give a profile of hobbies and interests. Alright, then. I am allowed to introduce myself, right? Only the...contestants have to be anonymous. I would be Adrian Caldik, if you are unfamiliar with me or the voice I am using. 'Hobbies.' Reading, flying, watching old or strange movies. ...Sleeping. Singing. 'Interests.' Literature, (good) music, the night/darkness, clothes, make-up, hair, myths and legends, the wicked side of things. Halloween. Hot chocolate, grasshoppers, sunflower seeds.

Well, I guess I'm bachelorette number one.
My interests include music, poetry, and the ocean. I suppose I could include 'nature' as one of my interests if I wanted to be a bit more general. My hobbies include singing, writing music, and being outdoors on a good day just to be outside; I love the wide-open spaces, the sun, and the wind on my face.
Other than that, I guess I'd say I'm friendly, but not annoying, I'm an optimist (some would go so far as to call me an idealist), I like 'cool' colors, and I'm a vegetarian.

Hurmph. I suppose I'll go along with this, but don't hope for any lasting arrangements with me, mateless male. You must be in stony soil if you resort to this kind of mating ritual. Besides, you sound tall and human - not to my tastes at all.
I don't like Sakwi or humans. I hate predatory birds. I hate meat, especially fish.
Hmm. I like boiled roots and burrowing. I can stand people in my... well, we're not a family, but... Hurmph. Nevermind.
Well? Hurry up, third female. We don't have all day.
(Note: She's never been in any roleplays, but she's going to be in some of my stories. Is that okay?)

Well, hi there, then? It is I, Bachelorette Number Three. Hola, all others.
My interests are interesting. Mostly, the outdoors, running, and medieval culture, though I'm just now getting into that. And the moon. Oh sweet Lord, I love that moon. Hobbies are... running, really. Running, and collecting old swords and suits of armor, though I'm not picky as to what time period it comes from.
I hate the moon not being there, most people in Peta, and people that won't smile back at you.
There you go, Bachelorette Two. I'm here now. Happy?

...Pleasure, ladies. I suppose we should be moving on, before Bachelorette Number Two throws a temper tantrum. Questions, now, I assume?
Something easy first, I suppose. For all of you. Are you afraid of the dark? Explain why or why not.
(ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK was a stellar show.)

Watch yourself, pup.
Of course I'm not afraid of the dark. I was raised in a burrow. Bright sunlight is a nuisance.
(OOC: Are You Afraid of the Dark scared me when I was little - especially that clown in the title sequence. *is chicken*)

Of course not. Why would I--what's there to be scared of? It's a natural part of nature.
(Yes, yes it was!)

Hmm, I suppose . . . not really. At least, not any more than any normal person is. I mean, I prefer sunlight whenever I can get it, but darkness can sometimes be soothing, in its own way. I'll admit that it can be scary, too, but come on, who /doesn't/ ever imagine the things that can hide themselves away in the dark?

Mm.
Well, fxxx, what am I supposed to /ask/?
Assume that societal standards are reversed, and you ladies are expected to do the planning and entertaining during a date. What would we be doing? All of you, again.
(Oh, no worries, it always scared me, too. Even the clown! O: Of course, I've had nightmares from books that weren't even horror, more like suspense, so...)

I'd ask you to fight me.
Hurmph. Since you're human, I guess I'll have to explain. When a Hromu male gets interested in a female, he asks her to a fight in front of some members of her family. If she feels the same way about him, she jumps him. If he can fight with her, she'll probably take up his offer. But if one of them does something wrong - you know, drawing blood - the female's family breaks it up.
That's the way "dating" is done in my village, but who knows what cricket-headed courtship rules are like for other Hromu?

Hmm. I'd probably take us to an open-air concert. Yeah, that would be fun. Except . . . no, that would be too public, especially when we'd be trying to be romantic.
So . . . maybe a nice little private cove on the beach, instead? *switches to a sort of 'kidding around' tone* That might make things move a little faster, if you know what I mean. Wink wink, nudge nudge. Hehe, depends on how cute you are.

Hm. Good question.
A night to just walk through the town, maybe a club, and end it with the last row of seats at a movie -wink-
Or a pleasent little nature walk through some woods. Either's fine with me.

+blink+ I...see.
If you were a bird, what species would you be? Why?
(xD Dork.)

Why on earth would I want to be a bird?

Thank you for answering for me.
Oh, all right. I like blue jays. They don't fly south in the winter, they fight, and they have some sense.

((Sorry I took so long to answer. Life has been hectic.))
*looks at Bachelorette 3* Because, I dunno, birds can /fly/? Who on earth wouldn't want to be able to fly?
As for what bird I'd want to be . . . an eagle. Definitely. I could soar effortlessly through the clouds.

I didn't ask if you wanted to be a bird. I asked what species you would be if you already were.
What do you consider the most important aspect of a relationship?
(Is otay, life is more important that the internet. Also, how many questions should we be asking, here?)

Well, what kind of relationship are you talking about?
For mates, it's protection. And without trust, there's no protection. How can you expect your mate to fight for you if he has another family with some night-thief?
For a parent and its cubs? Parents protect, and cubs obey. Someone ends up dead otherwise.
For friends? Hmm. In that case, making each other tougher is more important than protecting each other. People have their own families to take care of. But keeping each other standing is what friends do.

Hm... Affection. You can't have a relationship without it.
Protection, too. But that seems like an outcome of affection, that you'd want to keep a loved one safe. Always want to have that person there.
And, if I had to be a bird, I guess I'd like to be something in the hawk family.
