A scene queen is a person who managed to gain fame through the internet and create a fanbase based upon mediocre looks and fairly crummy pictures. And a whole lot of people LOVE facing them.
I am fine with myspace as long as the characters are not people recognized by a lot of people, and I see no issue with VF.
Perhaps we could have a board linking out to the various profiles from the various sites people are using?

When I said "None of that myspace nonsense" I meant that I didn't want to see Jac Vanek or any of those other stupid c***s that EVERYONE uses as a face claim.
Sorry.
I really don't see what the problem is with using celebrities. I mean, as an admin you have the power to decide is too pretty to use or whatever. If some idiot decides to try and use Angelina Jolie as a face claim...then you can just tell them that they need to choose a different person.

I'd agree, no major celebs. There's a point where a face becomes too familiar, either as the celeb themself or (if they're an actor) as the character(s) they play. Someone may think that their characther looks, in their mind's eye, like Emma Watson, but if they use pictures of her, all I'm going to think of is Hermione Granger, you know?
And there's also the fact that most celebs are very good looking people not only because they were born with good looks, but because they can afford really good medical care and (occasional/not occasional) cosmetic procedures. And with what this site is, the majority of the characters wouldn't have those advantages. Most of our characters, even if they are in reasonably good health, wouldn't ever have had access to nose jobs/boob jobs/liposuction/personal trainers/etc (though, looking at what your character is, Princess, this might not apply to her). With similar background and opportunities, sure, my Zepher might reselmble someone famous, but she's had a pretty hard life, and most of the characters here have.

-seconds Zepher-
Okay, so no major celebs (does that leave us the minor ones?), or, uh, 'scene queens'? That sounds coolio -thumbs up-
Awwwwww, Buffy would be soooooo cute if she got some puffy lips >w<

Well...Lunar disappeared for several months and the site was dying. So I thought it would be a good idea to remake the site on a different board since it's hard to continue a site without and admin. Lunar has returned to the site, but we're still going to remake it.
The rules and the profile skeletons have been made... I'm not sure what else need to be done, but if you'd like to help ask kitty, because she's basically in charge of everything

Yeah, I really dropped the ball; school's been kicking I disagree. It'll be better now, though, and I can actually start setting the board up, and then I'll know what needs to be written.
If everyone has not written a lab description for the relative important labs in your character's history, then those can be written. I figure we'll have lab descriptions be a mandatory read, because like--I think it would be best if new members could be attached to other characters on the site by lab association.
Yesh.

I'll get back to that floorplan I was working on before I dissappeared, too. That's something we should have on the new site, I think.
Incidentally, how long of time-skip are we thinking of, guys? Two years? Less, more? (I think someone said "a couple of years" at some point.) I'm trying to re-work my characters a little (no major changes, but ret-conning a bit of backstory and establishing what they've been up to during the time-skip), and I'm not sure how much time I need to account for.

Wow... *thinks* Well.... I think I shall have Tarr have gone on a trip to find his sister during this absence of mine. X3 Of course, he will return, and I'll have to update him a bit to account for his new experiences. Also, he will have missed the attempted intro to the rest of the world.
I might being in his sis...I might not. X..x *waits for new site to update everything on* ^..^

I was thinking five years. And yes, Lunar, a floor plan would be amazing.

Ok, gotcha. Five. I can do that. (Lessee... that makes Zepher... 27, I think? Le Gasp! Lunar will have to play a grown-up!)
Will start working on the floorplan again immediately.

Okay, I think I need to actually start making the thread places, so we can begin to start writing room descriptions. Here is what I was thinking. Each place can have a small little blub, like-- The Living Room "Featuring a large, leather sectional and a slightly elder, but perfectly functional television, the Living Room is the most communal room in the House. Many residents hang out in the Living Room to pass the time." So, here was the threads I was going to make. The titles and stuff need to be changed, and we all need to pitch in to write everything. I'm not going to do it all, because that's not fair. forums -- sub forums inside of them. The InformationThe Rules The Plot Sub Plots News The Floor Plan and the Explanation of the House The OOC --The OOC, In Character OOC, Leaves of Absences, The Suggestion Box Off-Site Storage The Archives -- Character Archives, Thread Archives, OOC Archives The Advertising -- Linking Back, Accepted Advertisements Character CreationCharacter Rules and Guidelines Laboratory Information Make a Character! -- Declined Characters, Pending Applications The Residents of the House Character Journals Extra Character Background Information The First FloorHolidays and Meetings The Living Room The Kitchen The Ground Floor Bedrooms The Second and Third Floors The Second Floor Bedrooms The Third Floor Bedrooms The Bathrooms The Outside AreasThe Backyard The Front Yard -- The Doorstep Beyond the House (I want to actually have places here. I was thinking of Guadalupe's coffee shop, the thrift store (goodwill?) and the Wal*Mart, for sure, but can anyone think of others? Maybe a park? Or should we just have a blanket thread? ) Okay, so does that work for everyone? Did I forget anything? Does anyone want to write anything specific? We'll have to split the rooms up and edit each others so that they all sound similar. EDIT: No one is angry that I am trying to do too much, right? I feel like I might be over-stepping my boundaries.

The floorplan I was working on before allowed for ground floor bedrooms, too. I'm wondering if maybe we shouldn't let go of the "this is where the boys sleep, this is where the girls sleep" thing altogether? It was already starting to break down a little, anyway.
Did anyone in character really care, anyway? I mean, I'm pretty sure Zepher did, but she'll have been gone for five years. Things could certainly have broken down in the mean-time, especially if they've opened up the rest of the downstairs. You know, people coming and going, just taking the rooms they like, moving in where-ever because they can get there easier or because no one's ever told them, "You have to go find a room on this specific floor."

In a five-years-in-the-future setting, Adri would be holy crap 25. Or if it takes place after eleven days from now in five years, 26. /Woahz/. He better get his sh!t together. Hee. Adult Zepher. ...Er. Carry on.
I agree with Lunar about the rooms. I mean, heck, we had boys and girls rooming /together/. (Oh noes!) Also, I'll take some rooms to describe, but I'm too indecisive to pick, so I'll just take whatever nobody else wants. 'Cause I'm a wonderful person like that. C:

I'll change it to the rooms upstairs and the rooms downstairs, because it doesn't make since to split genders any longer. I mean, if the characters are all like over twenty, they might want to be able to sleep in a room with someone of the other gender. I'll change that.
And do we want the time skip to be shorter? I just thought of five years, because it seemed--rounded and easy, but we could easily make it so that less time has passed.
I edited the list.

I see no problem with co-ed rooms (although I don't believe that all the characters will be over twenty... even if the original characters are aged up, I certainly hope we'll get some new ones, some of whom might be teens or kids...). Zepher's screaming bloody murder in the back of my head, but she's a bit of a prude, anyway.
Also, five years is fine, if no one else has a problem with it.

Well, no, but maybe one of the older characters will want to--bring someone home.
Zepher can handle it.
Here's how we're going to split up the writing.
I'll write the plot, I guess, because Lunar has to do the floor plan bit. I'll make sure to post it because the lovely members need to make sure it is alright. UNLESS, someone else wants to do it. -prods Souleh-
Princess already wrote the rules, so those don't need to be written.
We don't any sub plots yet, really, unless someone can think of some to start off with.
Does Zim want to explain the off-site storage part? It only needs to be like--three sentences or something.
I'll deal with the ads, because that's easy, and I am picky about it.
Princess can write the "character don'ts," since she did the rules, and it is the same idea.
Lunar? can do the types of characters, since it is her original idea and all, and she knows best?
I already did the profile--I'll write the walk through.
Souleh can write the explanation of the character background place, because I think that was her idea in the first place.
There are nine places and 5 of us, so everyone does two except for one person who only does one. I kinda like that living room one I threw together, so that one is done. The rest are open.
Does that work? If anyone objects to writing something, just say so. I was just trying to actually get everything done.

I'd be fine at taking a shot at the plot if I knew what it was. What is the plot?
Character background, okay.
And, uhm, I dunno what places I want, so. Someone pick for me or something.
Also, bahahahahahaha people bringing people home to the House. Oh man would that be a terrible morning after surprise. WOAH WTF YOUR HOUSEMATES HAVE SCALES/FUR/WINGS AHH.

I figure it includes the old site plot, the whole Zepher created the House for escaped experiments, blah blah blah, but then we add the bit about the beginning of attempting to contact the media, and Zepher disappearing and the media idea ending due to paranoia. Eventually the members would reorganize, and then, five years later, Zepher appears back and some members start pushing for the media contact again.
I was thinking more of a morning after reaction being--
OH GOD, YOU HAVE SCALES/GILLS/FEATHERS!
